How we do it

In our work . . . as with life generally . . . we strive to leave things better than we found them. Traditionally, an attorney is a client’s trusted adviser – a learned counselor with the protection of the Attorney-Client Privilege. However, a business-oriented attorney is also a problem solver. With the benefit of both business and legal education and experience, we understand our clients’ objectives and help achieve them in an efficient manner.

Who we are

Entrepreneur lawyer Jean L. Batman was a partner at Duane Morris LLP, one of the country's 100 largest law firms, when she left in 2004 to start Legal Venture Counsel, Inc., a boutique law firm formed to provide outside general counsel services to investors, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Batman had an active career in the securities industry, culminating with her position in 1989 as President of Smith-Thomas Investment Services, Inc. (a registered Broker-Dealer).

San Francisco attorney Alexander V. Choulos, joined the firm in 2005, bringing years of experience as a litigator with Choulos, Choulos & Wyle, in-house general counsel for diverse companies, and an entrepreneur engaged in green technology businesses.
